Gilbert A. Principe, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Gilbert A. Principe has achieved many accomplishments throughout his career-long devotion to orthodontics. A graduate of Florida State University who majored in biology and chemistry, Dr. Principe earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville Dental School. He received specialty training at Washington University, where he earned his Masters Degree in Orthodontics.
As a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy, Dr. Principe established the Navy’s first orthodontic department in Asia at the Yokosuka Naval Hospital in Japan. He served as Head of Orthodontics, overseeing treatment at two facilities.
During more than 25 years in private practice, Dr. Principe has been actively involved in professional and community organizations. He has served as President of the Florida State Central District Dental Association, the Lake County Dental Society and the Easter Seal Society. He has also served as chairman of the Public Relations Committee for the Florida State Dental Association. Dr. Principe is a Board Certified Orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the College of Diplomates. Dr. Principe lectures on orthodontics for 3M Corporation, one of the largest manufactures of orthodontic appliances. He also lectures for Align Technology, teaching the Invisalign technique. Dr. Principe has treated hundreds of Invisalign candidates and is an Elite Premier Provider with Align Technology.
